Let’s turn it back in time all the way to the days at Eastwood High School in El Paso, TX. I knew of Brianna and Johnny from mutual friends and social circles. Brianna was in the Saltatrix dance team while Johnny was in varsity baseball. After graduating, Johnny and Brianna hustled and made long distance work while they were both in school at UTEP and ASU. Fast forward a few years later, they got engaged while on a trip to Europe a few months ago. (Best destination proposal goes to..) Johnny popped the question to Bri in Ireland.
Brianna and I connected then through IG and they were on the hunt for some engagement photos in Austin. We originally had planned a weekend in September, but lo and behold Texas weather decided to delay and end up cancelling my flight that weekend last minute. Thankfully, we were able to reschedule one mo time.
I had a great time photographing these two, and an even better time connecting with them. We power walked to get shots by Auditorium Shores, took the streets of Austin for some dope gelato at PopBar, took every bit of those 25 seconds dancing in the middle of the street in south congress, and even ended with a river jump pic in East Austin.
Working with these two this weekend is the reason why I enjoy my job so much, and I can’t thank them enough for their energy, their openness to any and all ideas, working with all the crazy rescheduling, and their hospitality extended the entire time.
Shoutout to Johnny’s sister/Behind the scenes videographer, Daisy, + their dog, Deeks, for tagging along! Nothing but love and all the best for y’all. Congrats again, and have an awesome wedding next year south of the border!
